Our Beginnings

Bow & Blossom began with a simple belief: music has a special way of bringing people together.

For Alyssa, Emma, and their younger brother Cody, the cello has always been part of home. All three siblings play the cello, and they grew up practicing, listening, and playing together. Although they each study classical repertoire with devoted teachers, their musical world has never been limited to one style. Alongside Bach, Haydn, and Beethoven, they have loved The Beatles, ABBA, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, J-pop, K-pop, and the familiar songs people remember, sing along to, and carry with them.

Their grandparents in Japan have also been a quiet inspiration behind Bow & Blossom. Since they see them only once a year during summer visits, playing the cello for their grandparents has become one of the most meaningful ways they share love across distance and generations. Seeing how deeply those performances touched their grandparents helped shape the hope behind Bow & Blossom: to bring that same sense of warmth to others.

As the idea grew, their friend Abby, a violinist since age 5, joined the project. She added another voice to the ensemble, along with the closeness of friendship and the pleasure of performing together. With cello, violin, and a shared desire to connect with others, Bow & Blossom became a way to bring live performances to senior communities and other gathering spaces.

Through each performance, Bow & Blossom hopes to offer music that is carefully prepared, warmly familiar, and shared from the heart, creating moments of memory, joy, and togetherness.
